Instagram has introduced their new flat logo design. What do you think?
Since its founding in 2010 and the acquisition by Facebook in 2012, Instagram has grown to one of today’s most popular social media platforms. Thanks to its simple and intuitive user interface, people love to use this app to share their photos and videos, enhance them with stylish filters or follow friends and celebrities. Just a few hours ago, Instagram has introduced us to a new design. Not only the user interface design of the app received an update, also the iconic logo has been completely redesigned. Instead of the photorealistic look as we know it from the old version, Instagram’s new logo is based on a simple, flat design spiced up by a striking color gradient.
Despite the flat design, Instagram’s new app icon still draws inspired from the previous version. Also the new logo represents a camera, but only in a more simple look and feel. The enhanced user interface design puts more focus on the user’s photos and videos. Also the design of Instagram’s other creative apps including Layout, Boomerang, and Hyperlapse has been updated. with over 80 million shared photos and video content every day, the updated design reflects how vibrant and diverse the community has become. Watch the video below to see the new design for yourself. I have to say I really like the new look. What do you think?

Hey Dirk, nice write up! I enjoy the rebrand. I love how the new family of logos play together, and the new, white UI is an improvement. I write my thought on the redesign if you care to check it out, here: http://steveraboin.com/new_instagram_logo/
