Packaging and menu design by Jiani Lu for Mantoushe, a Dubai based build-your-own-meal eatery.
Jiani Lu is a Taipei, Taiwan based freelance graphic designer and photographer. In 2015, she was asked to develop a packaging range and menu as well as some additional printed products for Mantoushe, a Dubai based build-your-own-meal restaurant that offers fully customizable wraps, salads and juices. The eatery was founded by a food scientist with a strong belief that healthy food is the basis for a healthy lifestyle. Mantoushe uses only natural ingredients that are cooked, baked or chopped in an open kitchen.
Jiani Lu’s graphic work included a redesign of the existing menu and packaging range. The Taiwanese designer translated some of the brand’s core values into graphic elements, which became part of the visual identity.
With the brand’s core beliefs in mind, Jiani Lu designed the entire packaging series and some additional printed matters. Each part of the design reflects the restaurant’s principle of serving fresh, natural food. The design is simple and reduces. For example, wraps are minimally packaged with a sealing sticker.
