Finnish type designer Mika Melvas recently published his latest typeface creation named: ‘Ahkio‘. It’s a brushed disconnected script font family, which consists of 5 fonts. Ahkio’s design is inspired by typical vintage sign painting and showcard lettering from the 1930s. Mika Melvas mixed this style with a modern and individual twist. The typeface is characterized by soft and rounded shapes along with slightly curved stems. Ahkio’s friendly appearance works great for striking titles, packaging design, logos, poster headlines, etc.
5 weights make it a versatile display script font. Ahkio gives you the possibility to add contrast and a nice vintage touch to your typography. The family comes with black and white manicules. You can use them easily with OpenType options. Just choose Stylistic set 1 and make sure Standard ligatures are on.
