Botio Nikoltchev, a Berlin based type designer and founder of Lettersoup has recently published the Quasimoda font family. This unique typeface combines the sturdy appearance of a modern sans serif with classical proportions. The family comprises 11 weights ranging from Hairline to Heavy plus matching Italic versions for each weight. Quasimoda’s light weights convey a fresh and modern touch, while the middle weights provide perfect readability, which makes them a great choice for long text sections. The bold weights have this slightly antiquated flair. They are a great fit for eye-catching headlines. With its partly geometric, partly grotesque proportions, Quasimoda is a sans serif font family that follows current trends, while also referring to classic styles of the 19th century. Due to the use of long descenders and a very small x-height, Quasimoda can be combined easily with Renaissance serifs such as Garamond.
