The visual art of Dresden, Germany based
painter H. G. Griese.
The German artist saw the light of day back in 1964 in Dresden, Germany where he still lives. After studying at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden (HfbK) from 1987 – 1995, he started to work as a painter and graphic artist.
His artistic style is strongly influenced by classic paintings, comics, and his passion for clear architectural and graphic shapes. The German artist skilfully combines figurative representations with graphic elements. Determining lines and geometric shapes with a formal objectivity go along with ironic as well as exhilarating or sometimes almost cynical motives.
Below you can enjoy a small selection of paintings created by H. G. Griese. If you are interested to see more of his artworks, then visit the artist’s website. Bye the way, a collection of his paintings is currently exhibited until August 3, 2014 at gallery Holger John in Dresden, Germany.
