‘Syrinx’: paintings from 2018 by American artist Jesse Mockrin on display at Night Gallery.

On display until Saturday, January 19, 2019, Night Gallery currently presents ‘Syrinx’, a solo exhibition of new artworks by Jesse Mockrin. Her third exhibition ‘Syrinx’ at the Los Angeles, CA-based gallery is named after the wood nymph of classical Greek mythology, which was often mentioned together with the god of nature, Pan, who had fallen in love with her and began to chase her through the forest. Inspired by artists such as Rubens and Coypel, Mockrin’s recent paintings are explorations of things that aren’t so much tied to her own experiences but to the history of images that we consume. Some of the artworks can be found below. For more, please have a look at her website or visit the Night Gallery website.
