Pantone is giving away free NFTs inspired by its color of the year, Very Peri.
Pantone has collaborated with eco-friendly blockchain, Tezos, and Paris-based multidisciplinary artist, Polygon1993, and will be giving away nine unique NFTs inspired by the 2022 Color of the Year, PANTONE® 17-3938 Very Peri. A limited number of each NFT will be available to the public; no purchase is necessary. The first five will be offered worldwide through a giveaway on Instagram, with the final four being available between March 11-14 exclusively at the “Pantone Very Peri” room inside the Tezos experience at SXSW 2022.
The first five NFTs are available for free on Tezos’ largest NFT marketplace, Objkt. The first drop of two pieces went live on March 9 at 12pm EST, and the second drop of three pieces will launch on March 10 at 7am EST. In order to obtain the NFTs, users will need to possess a Tezos digital wallet. New NFT collectors can set up a digital wallet easily via Kukai, using DirectAuth to link an existing Google, Twitter, or Reddit account.
An additional drop of four, brand new NFTs created by Polygon1993 will be available exclusively at Tezos’ SXSW 2022 experience, Block/Space, between March 11-14, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Visitors will also be able to immerse themselves in the color and view the NFTs inside the “Very Peri” room at the activation. In addition, Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, and Elley Cheng, the General Manager of Pantone, will discuss color and the metaverse as part of Tezos’ speaker series – more details here.
