Satirical Pop Art by Eric Yahnker

Paintings and drawings by artist Eric Yahnker from 2014.

Los Angeles-based artist Eric Yahnker creates large-sized satirical pop art. He uses colored pencil as well as charcoal, graphite, and ink on paper. Eric Yahnker’s colorful artworks are reminiscent of the flashy style of advertising posters and billboards from the 1980s. His satirical pop art offers a witty depiction of contemporary culture and politics.

The artist was born in Torrance, California in 1976. After first studying journalism at the University of Southern California, Eric Yahnker started to focus on his creative abilities. For this reason, he started to study Character Animation at the California Institute of the Arts where he received a BFA in 2000. Upon his graduation, Eric Yahnker worked for amazing TV projects.

Below you can see a selection of some of his satirical artworks from 2014. A fine collection of sculptures and paintings can be seen in his solo exhibition “Sticks & Drones” at London based gallery Paradise Row. The exhibition opened on May 17 and will end on JUNE 28, 2014.
