Packaging design by Studio Faculty for Karen Mordechai’s ILĀ cooking ingredients.
As a supplement to her upcoming cookbook named: ILĀ, Karen Mordechai decided to create her own line of essential ingredients. The creative team of Vancouver-based Studio Faculty was asked to produce a suitable packaging range for this project. The brand name is derived from the Hindu mythology, which describes a dualism in gender for the character of ila. This was the main inspiration for the black and white packaging collection. Studio Faculty’s packaging solution has been reduced to its essentials. The whole concept is based on purism and the story of Karen Mordechai’s selected ingredients, which are sourced from some of the world’s best places. For the packaging labels, the designers decided to use Neenah Plike paper in white and black with copper foiling. Check out the sample images below or read more about this packaging project on Studio Faculty’s website.
