Held in Stavanger, Norway, British Mural Artist Helen Bur was invited to the Nuart Festival 2018.

There are so many talented mural artists out there; equally talented figurative easel painters, and lots of scholarly conceptual artists. Standing out from this and finding an original voice in any of these fields isn’t easy.

UK-based artist Helen Bur has found her own way to combine them all authentically. Continuing a tradition of celebrating ordinary people that started with Caravaggio, while at the same time upgrading her studio work to the level of the best muralists, her foresight to screw things down on the street level and a human scale by creating portraits of people that populate the same streets.
