The creative team of Backbone Branding was tasked to develop a distinctive and appealing cafe & bakery identity for Louis Charden. The client asked for a visual vocabulary that reflects the comfort and coziness of French cafes.
Backbone’s solution is based on the concept of scent-driven memories like the aroma of your mother’s cakes as well as memories of childhood, home and family. The French origin was first solved through the naming. Louis Charden is the name of the founder of the bakery. Backbone Branding developed a unique brand lettering for the logotype based on the founder’s name. In addition, they have created several unique illustrations, which depict different life events of the brand character (the first love, different childish amusements, or his first steps in the confectionary industry). The complete work included the creation of numerous packaging designs and printed collateral.
