Eyes on Belgian artist Thomas Amerlynck and his dreamlike etchings.
Thomas Amerlynck was born in Anderlecht in June 29, 1981. Today he lives in Brussels, where he pursues his work. You can find more information below the first image.
Before he started his career as a professional artist, Thomas Amerlynck studied at various universities including ENSAV La Cambre, Brussels, Belgium with a Master in Printmaking, International School for Graphic Arts in Florence, Italy where he acquired his professional qualification as an engraver and printmaker, G4 with the Master of art at Giuseppe Di Giangirolamo, Barga, Italy plus silkscreen qualification, and the Institut Saint-Luc, Brussels, Belgium with a graduation from the Illustration Department.
Besides several international shows, Thomas Amerlynck has been awarded with numerous prices. The Belgian artist mainly creates etchings that are deeply rooted in different memories or current moods. His artworks often depict characters of muddled lines with figurative elements. His etchings often create tensions and confusions between representation and abstraction, which creates space for interpretations.
