Store interior design by Various Associates for ‘ANGEL’, a lifestyle concept store in Shenzhen, China.
ANGLE is a lifestyle concept store located in Shenzhen, China. Co-created with Charles Wang, co-founder of DONGLIANG, it combines a cafe, art gallery, and boutique—all in one place. The project is located in South Area of No.1 Shenzhen Bay with a 300 sq. m space. Angel can be considered a multi-functional boutique and cafe that differentiates itself from traditional boutiques.
The team of Various Associates was responsible for the entire interior design concept. With originally two separated floors, VA suggested using stairs to connect them. The staircase can also serve as an exhibition stand. The ground floor includes a cafe, which also serves as a gallery space, while the second floor is a high-end womenswear boutique. VA’s interior concept truly maximized the opportunity to showcase exhibitions and give the space a more unique feel through the spatial language of stairs. This way, customers can explore a different sense of space and playfulness when moving between the floors.
