Mark Moore Gallery proudly presents ‘Nomad’, an exhibition by Israeli born artist Zemer Peled.
Opening September 10, 2016, Culver City, CA based Mark Moore Gallery will present ‘Nomad’, which is Zemer Peled’s first solo show in Los Angeles. With a range of large-scale sculptures and smaller objects, the Israeli born artist examines our natural world with all its beauty and brutality. Deeply influenced by landscapes, plants, places, and personal memories, these artworks are made from thousands of hand-crafted porcelain shards. The artistic process can be described as “creation and destruction”. Some of her sculptural formations appear airy, delicate, even fluffy, while others appear like a mysterious interpretation of alluring forms. They often convey a sense of organic softness with the addition of sharp accents. Many of her sculptures recall the shapes and shallow movements of corals. Feel free and read more below.
The Israeli born artist uses white and colored porcelain pieces to transform them into objects of unknowable origins. Her sculptures appear seductive but yet untrustworthy. The arrangements of ceramic pieces never seem to be static. Her sculptures convey a visual dance of a constant movement.
The exhibition will run from September 10 – October 29, 2016 at Mark Moore Gallery. For further information about the show and the artist, please visit the gallery website.
