Villa Blåbär – Modern architecture in harmony with Sweden’s nature.
The team of pS Arkitektur has completed Villa Blåbär, a house located in Nacka, outside of Stockholm, Sweden. The house was designed during several workshops together with the client in order to find the perfect ground plan. They tested and combined different volumes. Goal was to place all rooms on one single level, while fitting the floor plan of the house with the sloping, rocky ground.
Villa Blåbär is mainly covered in roofing felt and stands on massive concrete blocks over the natural ground. The challenge was to create a house that provides comfort and a sophisticated, uncompromising design, while affecting the environment as little as possible. The dark color of Villa Blåbär’s exterior forms a deliberate contrast to the white interior design.
