Graphic design, art direction, and rebranding by Oddity Studio for Manulife, an international insurance company.
Oddity is a Hong Kong-based graphic design and branding studio. Their creative team was asked to work on a new visual experience for Manulife. Contrary to the common designs known from the insurance market that tends to be overcomplicated, Oddity Studio’s designers came up with a new brand identity based on a non-corporate lifestyle.
The new visual experience is based on the motive of duality: being both rational and emotional. The graphic designers worked closely with the client for two years. Their work included the development of design principles, a logotype, a grid system, color swatches, hundreds of icons and illustrations, a new website, and a bespoke typeface that has been created in collaboration with the Playtype foundry.
