Graphic design and visual identity development by Korean graphic design studio CFC for Damoon, a dinnerware brand by Chaehoon Moon.
The creative team of graphic design studio CFC (Content Form Context) was asked to develop the visual identity of Damoon, a dinnerware brand by Chaehoon Moon. Her products are characterized by a mixture of Korean traditional materials such as Ottchil and Yuhgee and elegantly handmade design. Yughee and Ottchil have long been used for dinnerware in Korea. It takes so many steps to produce these products. Hence, the designers of CFC wanted to visualize the process of time and effort involved in making each piece. To do so, they focused on layers (layers of processes and layers of material). They metaphorically described the process of creating these products by using different symbols, wordmarks, and patterns.
