Artworks of cavities, gradients, and translucencies created by Mimi Jung.

Born in 1981, Mimi Jung is a Korean artist who currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She received her BFA from Cooper Union college in New York and attended HGK Basel and Städelschule for postgraduate studies.

Using cavities, gradients, and translucencies, Mimi Jung’s constructed forms examine different states of self-preservation in relation to private and public self-representation. Her artworks are fixed but never really static. This way, viewers are able to control the visual perception and as a result the effect on their own behaviors.

Her art could be seen in various exhibitions throughout the United States as well as Copenhagen, Brussels, London, and Melbourne. Some of the artworks can be found below. For more, please visit her website.
