Eyes on artist Erik Thor Sandberg and his narrative paintings.
Erik Thor Sandberg is a painter who lives and works in Washington DC. His artworks are skillfully created compositions of narrative scenes. They seem to start a conversation between the artist and the viewer. Furthermore, his narrative paintings ask questions about the human identity as well as our own consciousness with all the strengths, fears and weaknesses. Without defining a beginning or an end, the artist creates narratives, which are full of symbolism. These scenes are completely isolated from time. In a very figurative manner, Erik Thor Sandberg’s oil paintings show people in quite disturbing situations. Many of these scenes act as symbolic representations of certain deficiencies of human nature. Fragments of certain situations reveal the unexpected way in which imperfection makes our daily life interesting.
Erik Thor Sandberg’s paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows nationally and abroad. Below you can see a selection of four pieces. Feel free and discover more of Sandberg’s creative work on his website: erikthorsandberg.com
