Sprecher, a beautiful home located at Hangklip, South Africa – Architecture by SAOTA (Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects).
Architect Stefan Antoni (SAOTA) was asked to design a home that refers to the local environment. The Sprecher house is situated at a recently established sea farm private nature reserve. The rocky peninsula is characterized by a dramatic seascape with breathtaking views of the Hangklip Mountain. The complete area is isolated from neighbours.
Stefan Antoni designed a house that is significantly influenced by the style of local architecture. The result is a contemporary low-maintenance weekend retreat with large verandas and mono-pitched roofs. In contrast, the architect decided to use natural colors and materials such as warm sandstone, ash-grey Balau woodwork along with a charcoal metal roof. The natural landscape dominates the living experience caused by the use of large glazed areas and extensive outdoor spaces. An open plan linear composition of the interior spaces allows views from every room.
