In 2018, the creative team of Fránek Architects designed this beautiful home in Krkonoše.
Designing a house in the pristine nature of Krkonoše was an exciting challenge for the team of Fránek Architects. The design of the house corresponds in its size to the existing building that has stood in this protected area since ancient times. It’s the only structure as far as the eye can see. The responsibility for the circumstances and the strict regulation resulted in an archetypal form. Additionally, the investor needed a sophisticated approach to space that would be spiritually focused, unusual, and pure in order to enjoy the environment to the fullest.
The house is situated on sloping terrain. That’s why the basement has been designed with an entrance from the lower floor to the outdoor pool. The main entrance and the driveway are on the ground floor in the upper part of the building. The basement is made of reinforced concrete with a wooden structure on top of it. While the exterior of the building is completely clad in larch slats, the interior is white and pure, even the floors. It serves as a white canvas to incorporate art in the form of positive thinking. This is how the investor perceives the house. One of the advantages is the adequate size of the house and its convenient economic use and maintenance of the place. Over time, the heat pump will be expanded to include a carport equipped with solar collectors and a vegetable greenhouse.
