Completed in 2016, Pedevilla Architects designed a Fire Department in Vierschach, South-Tirol.
The team of Pedevilla Architects designed a new fire department located at 1,130m above sea level. The architectural concept is based on a clear, compact structure. The red color is a symbol of functionality. In addition, it underlines the independence of the new building. The structure creates an upper place and a lower place, with the upper (hall) and lower rooms (vehicle hall). Special attention has been paid to the robust and simple construction. Structural lightweight concrete was used as the perfect material. As a contrast to the solid concrete, stone pine and local loden were used for the hall, which is also a meeting point for the residents of Vierschach.
