Casa 7A, a country house located in the town of Villeta, Colombia.
The team of Arquitectura en Estudio collaborated with Natalia Heredia to design Casa 7A, a country house located in the town of Villeta, Colombia. Task was to design a country house situated on a hillside, 1.5 hours to the west of Bogotá. The entire built area of 550 m² includes 3 rooms, a studio, service and social areas as well as a swimming pool. The client’s main demand was that the house has to be able to be completely closed whenever it’s not in use.
The architects have created a concept that offers a seamless transition between the interior and exterior space. A clean and horizontal roof protects most of the social areas from sun and rain. On the other hand, it blends well with the natural landscape. Several voids and blocks are organized under one roof, which is open towards the mountains. Towards the road, the house is entirely closed to provide privacy.
All social areas are linked to appear as one large space, which is open towards the terrace, pool and the mountains. A second terrace, framed by a void in the roof defines the character of this space. Kitchen and service areas are designed as a lower block around the dining space. A third terrace provides a completely different character. This space is defined by a concrete wall and a beautiful garden.
