Brand identity design by Bruno do Nascimento for the Lisbon, Portugal based Babel BookStore Cafe.
Once known as ‘Campo Grande 111’ – the new owner wanted to transform this old bookstore in the heart of Lisbon into something new, a space where people come to relax, reading a book while having a cup of tea or coffee. So a whole new identity concept was needed. Bruno do Nascimento, a Lisbon based graphic designer was asked to help with the overall brand design. Starting with a new name “Babel BookStore Cafe”, Bruno do Nascimento wanted to develop a visual language that reflects the coziness of this unique place in the heart of Lisbon. The Babel BookStore Cafe includes a gallery in the basement consisting of several rooms where visitors can find publications on various subjects such as illustrations, journals, children’s books and comics as well as publications of national and international authors. There is also a special room for graphic arts. This area is equipped with a letterpress printing machine as well as a lounge for workshops and the cozy cafe.
