Artist statement: “I explore the impact of technology and politics on the human experience. How have these technological radical shifts re-wired our minds and our society? How do we live with close scrutiny of society and our ability to live in it? And most specifically, I am keen to explore how we overcome becoming merely isolated units of consumption in response to all of these things? In our search for connection and escape, I look at transcendent experiences such dance culture, including music, drugs and mass communion; In making brightly-colored photographs, I aim to make subversive visuals that invite the possibility of the viewer contextualizing current affairs and entertaining their own feelings of association and interpretation in relation to what is being presented to them. These images delve into my experimentation with photography, enchantment with color, and sensitivity to the modern world around me.”
