Oil paintings by Norwegian artist Christer Karlstad.
Painter Christer Karlstad was born in 1974. He studied at The Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts and Glasgow School of Art. His oil paintings are deeply influenced by myths, symbols, and archetypes. With his artworks, he wants to cross the border between the real and the fictional world. Sometimes his paintings show a confrontation between good and evil, comforting and disturbing, life and death.
Christer Karlstad’s paintings have been shown in several group and solo exhibitions and some of the artworks have been acquired by Kistefos-Museet, Norway’s central bank, Statoil, and Arts Council Norway. He also realized commissioned artworks for Refsnes Gods.
