Kinuta Terrace, an architecture and interior design project by Keiji Ashizawa and Norm Architects with furniture from Karimoku Case Study.
Located in Tokyo, Japan, Kinuta Terrace is a multiple dwelling house consisting of 36 maisonettes that have been constructed in 1991. Keiji Ashizawa, a Japanese architecture and interior designer teamed up with Copenhagen-based Norm Architects for this renovation project including landscape architecture as well as furniture and interior design. Using furnishings from Karimoku Case Study, they have created a living concept that is characterized by material richness and this timeless appeal, which is evident throughout the entire space. Thanks to the large windows, the courtyard is flooded with natural sunlight. The light emphasizes the material richness of the walls and floors. This architecture and interior design project focuses on every element by selecting and harmonizing the right materials, which contribute to the natural references of the living space and create a comfortable and warm atmosphere.
