The architecture, interiors, and product design practice Park McDonald renovated a Californian mid-century house that was originally designed by star architect John Lautner.
Since I watched the movie “A Single Man” by Tom Ford, this house is my absolute dream home. Originally designed by architect John Lautner in 1948, the mid-century house is situated at the base of Verdugo Mountains in Montrose, CA, a small suburb of LA. During the past years, the ownership of the house changed several times. Since it belongs to the Schaeffers; Park McDonald, a full-service architecture, interiors, and product design practice, helped to restore the original state of this beautiful home by introducing more suitable colors and complementary furnishing of originals by designs such as Jean Prouve, Charlotte Perriand, and George Nakashima.
Photographer Joe Fletcher has captured these beautiful images of my personal dream home. I hope you like the house as much as I do!
