Check out this holiday home between the sea and the Ria de Aveiro, designed by the architect Nuno Silva from numa architects.

This architectural project aims to create a holiday house that takes full advantage of its location, particularly the beautiful views of Aveiro estuary and the surrounding forest. The client’s specific requirements were to design a unique space to store all their nautical equipment.

With these clear objectives in mind, we embarked on the project with a distinct vision – to ensure visual openness for the main house while providing a dedicated storage area for the nautical equipment. Considering the terrain’s morphology, we decided on a two-story building.

To harmonize the house with the sloping terrain, we carefully concealed its accentuated topology, resulting in a seamless integration of the house as a distinctive piece within the landscape. This approach also facilitated easy access to the house from the base level, with the basement accessible through a gently sloping ramp.

The spatial layout was meticulously planned to separate functions on different floors. The ground floor hosts the main area, which includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, and social sanitary facilities. On the -1 floor, we positioned the technical and storage area to cater to the client’s nautical equipment. Furthermore, the private area, consisting of bedrooms and accompanying sanitary facilities, was thoughtfully designed for comfort and privacy.
