Fazer Café – Graphic Design and Typography by Kokoro & Moi

Graphic Design and Typography for Finnish Fazer Café.

Helsinki, Finland based full-service creative agency Kokoro & Moi completed this beautiful graphic design and typography project for the new Fazer Cafés in Helsinki.

Helsinki’s first Fazer Café was establish by Karl and Berta Fazer in 1891. The new Fazer Cafés continue this blend of elegance and a timeless way of life. It’s a place that offers a pleasant atmosphere to the city’s inhabitants.

The first new Fazer Cafés were opened in the summer of 2013 in Munkkivuori, Helsinki and in the Stockmann department store in Tampere. Thereafter, further cafes were opend in Helsinki and some more Fazer Cafés will follow.

Kokoro & Moi was commissioned to develop a visual identity that reflects the brand’s story and provides a timeless chic. They designed two custom typefaces called “Fazer Grotesk” and “Fazer Chisel”. These typefaces are inspired by the original Fazer sign. Both are used on all visual communication and marketing materials. Additional graphics like various patterns are used in wallpapers, napkins, take-away packaging, and several brand accessories. The entire graphic design and typography concept results in a unique visual identity, which looks elegant and timeless.

The interior has been designed in collaboration with studio Koko3.
