Paintings by Conor Harrington

Eyes on Irish-born graffiti artist and painter Conor Harrington.

Conor Harrington was born in 1980 in Cork, Ireland. From 1998 – 2004, he studied at Limerick School of Art and Design. During this time he mainly focused on creating graffiti and large-scale outdoor murals. In 2004, he moved to London where he still lives and works. He became internationally known through diverse black and white murals of fighting men. His work is deeply inspired by the style and fashion of the 18th century. Over the years he expanded his artistic range with colored paintings of seemingly unfinished imagery made with loose brushstrokes or even dripping paint.

On closer inspection one will notice that Conor Harrington’s art is characterized by a certain kind of masculinity mixed with classical elements and urban influences. The artist once said that he “is interested in the dynamics between opposing elements.” During the last years, the artist has participated in numerous gallery projects. His work could be seen in several group and solo shows – mainly in London and New York. Below you can find two more examples of his latest work.
