Gmail Redesign Concept – Interaction Design, UI/UX, Web Design.
Ukrainian web designer Ruslan Aliev developed this unofficial Gmail redesign concept to show how he would change the user interface of Google’s popular e-mail service.
He made some subtle adjustments without changing the entire layout and identity of Gmail, which we are used to. That’s what I really like about his UI/UX concept. The primary focus of the concept is based on simplification of the mail review. Another great feature is the possibility to have more precise adjustments in order to offer a custom color scheme. Ruslan Aliev’s concept allows to read and work with Gmail in two modes: The first mode is arranged in a list view, where one of the messages is always open. The second mode was built on the layout of a table.
The hight of the Google logo was taken as a basis; all other proportions are calculated according to it using the golden ratio method. It is possible to customize the color style of each element on the page.
