United Notions Collaborative Exhibition

Exhibit design and identity development by The Bakery for United Notions’ 16.

Despite cultural differences, today’s humanity has many similarities. We all share global trend, tastes, opinions and manners. On the other hand, each culture has its own traditions. The United Notions Collaborative Exhibition is a traveling event with the aim to bring together different nations, cultures, and traditions. The Bakery design studio from Russia came up with the idea to investigate into cultural peculiarities of other countries. Feel free to read more below the first image of the article.

The exhibition’s aim is to express similarities and differences in a diverse set of visual communication. The Bakery teamed up with 19 other design studios from across the world. Each studio had the opportunity to create two unique posters: “one based on personal choice, another based on a brief from the peers.”

The result is a traveling show featuring 40 poster designs made by 20 different studios. Through a simple visual language of typography, illustration, form and color, the exhibition shows that despite all cultural differences, humanity can speak the same language. The project has been realized in collaboration with Arjowiggins Creative Papers.
