Léopold Rabus – Artist Portrait

Eyes on Swiss artist Léopold Rabus.

Léopold Rabus was born in 1977 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He mainly specializes in oil paintings and installations. His paintings often depict creepy characters in strange environments or dark spaces. Léopold Rabus always combines this spooky atmosphere with a humorous touch. The Swiss artist uses backdrops such as deserted sheds or old wooden houses in order to create this gloomy mood. The characters in his paintings are inspired by people from his immediate surroundings. With his paintings, Léopold Rabus wants to show us an exaggerated representation of the local context of his home.

Below you can see a small selection of his artworks including painings and an installation from 2008. Léopold Rabus creative work has been exhibited internationally in numerous solo and group shows. You cn find more of his artworks on the website: leopoldrabus.aeroplastics.net
