Krasnogorie – Handmade sausages and meat packaging design created by Science Agency for Russian meat processing plant, Chelyabinsk.
Krasnogorie (Красногорье: Red Mountains) is a delicate series of sausages and meat from the Chelyabinsk (Челябинск) meat processing plant. Their delicate products were originally sold to regular customers in small retail shops. In order to conquer more of the Russian market, the brand required a refreshed product positioning. The creative team of Saint Petersburg based Science Agency was asked to help with a new packaging design, which reflects the high quality as well as the producer’s commitment.
Development of the identity and packaging concept.
The Chelyabinsk meat processing plant uses latest technologies from Germany and Austria to realize the highest possible level of quality. Only natural ingredients from proven Russian producers are used to make these delicious sausages.
Science Agency came up with the idea of creating a packaging concept that underpins the naturalness of the products. Their goal was to develop a distinctive design that refers to the fine quality of the products and the rural region where the sausages are made. As background for all types of packaging, they have created a pattern showing the typical marbled effect we all know of the grain of meat. On closer inspection you can see that the pattern of meat fibers takes the shapes of little farms, villages, and mountains. Below you can see a few images of the development process.
