‘Destination Greece’, a stamp collection by Mike Karolos.
Mike Karolos is a Manchester, UK born graphic designer who grew up in Greece, where he still lives and works. ‘Destination Greece’ is a self initiated project with the aim to show the vast diversity of Greece in an illustrative abstract style. After all the negative headlines in recent years caused by the economic and refugee crisis, Mike Karolos decided to create something based on the almost forgotten side of Greece. In a colorful way, this self initiated stamp collection shows us the beautiful side of the country. The social and political aspects right now make us forget that Greece is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The country combines breathtaking nature and history, amazing beaches and delicious food.
With ‘Destination Greece’, the Athens based designer wanted to illustrate some of the most characteristic places and sceneries in his very own style. For example, Mike Karolos has created stamps of Greek islands, ancient artifacts and landmarks, beaches, traditional houses and food. Mike is currently planning to make prints, which will be available online soon.
