Gerês House, a modern, horizontally formed home situated on a steep slope in the Caniçada Valley.

Designed by architecture studio Carvalho Araújo, Gerês house is a modern home that relates with the land in a very spontaneous way. Thanks to its location on a steep slope, it provides breathtaking views over Portugal’s Caniçada Valley. The entrance is placed at the upper level of the house. Architecture studio Carvalho Araújo has designed a modern, horizontally formed home, which is highly functional with numerous multipurpose spaces. A spacious central living room extends to the outside through a large terrace. The kitchen area has been arranged on the same floor, while the most intimate rooms are placed at a second level of the house.
