Dark Ice Cream – illustration and animation project.
Sergey Ermakov and Olesya Poplavskaya are two Yekaterinburg, Russia based graphic designers and illustrators of studio CODE501. They teamed up to create this very special typeface called “Dark Ice Cream”. It’s a creative project with the aim to explore connections between the structured form of a font in combination with an illustrative style. But that’s not all, they also developed some nice animations based on this illustrated typeface.
I think these illustrated popsicle letters would fit very well for the signage of an ice cream parlor restaurant and the animations could be used for the web presentation. Below you can see the entire alphabet from A to Z of this “Dark Ice Cream” typeface as well as some of the letter animations.
