Steven Briand is a French filmmaker who specializes in creating short films based on live performances as well as animation and diverse mixed media techniques. For his latest project called “Chimera”, the Paris based filmmaker has collaborated with choreographer Cathy Ematchoua to produce this stunning short of acrobatic dance performances in highly aesthetic kaleidoscopic movements. As the name suggests, the project is inspired by Chimera, a hybrid creature of Greek mythology with the head and body of a lion, as well as the head of a goat that was attached to its back, and a tail that ends on a head of a snake. Steven Briand’s balletic short sees different dancers who merge up to three unique movement styles in one single sequence.
