The images show the design of a sophisticated replacement dwelling in Swanage, a coastal town in the south east of Dorset, England. The location is characterized by a natural forest with a beautiful view over the Durlston Country Park.
Ström Architects designed a contemporary single storey house, which protrudes over the retaining wall and provides protection to the car park and the entrance of the replacement dwelling. Two massive concrete surfaces will be used for the floor and roof to allow the wide protrusion of the house. The entire architecture design of the dwelling offers a clean, rectilinear form, which is in harmony with the landscape. Large windows from floor to roof flooding the rooms with natural light and provide excellent views of the countryside. Local Purbeck stone will be used for the retaining wall.
