Workshop Identity – Senior Show Project by Cody Petts

The Makers Union – Workshop Identity Concept

The Makers Union is Cody Petts‘ Senior Show project, which was developed at UW-Stout in December 2013. It’s a fictional workshop identity concept.

The Makers Union is meant to be a chain of small educational craft workshops around the US and mainly established in urban regions. The unique selling point is that all kinds of craftsmen and makers can pay a monthly fee in order to gain access to the premises including the entire workshop equipment, tools, and classes.

Cody Petts developed the complete brand identity and all related branding materials such as collateral, packaging, signage, and digital media. His logotype creation is based on bold, geometric letters combined with a wrench icon. Wood forms the most authoritative basis for the overall brand design. Cody Petts even used the wood texture for some printed materials such as envelopes and CD covers.
