Identity development and graphic design by studio TRÜF for University of California Humanities Research Institute (UCHRI).
Santa Monica, California based creative studio TRÜF was commissioned by the University of California Humanities Research Institute (UCHRI) to create a visual identity for a new initiative called ‘Horizons of the Humanities’. The initiative was launched to explore ideas around technology, social media and how it affects humanity. They asked for a dynamic and varied identity system they could use for several materials over the course of their 3-year Mellon grant.
The logo is based on a letter ‘H’, which was created out of “data points”. The dots from the logo can be used in several ways to create different illustrations. In addition, overlapping hexagon shapes can be used for icons or as a vessel for photography. TRÜF’s graphic work also included the development of several print materials such as posters and a brochure. Below you can see some images of the project. For more, please visit TRÜF’s website.
