When we look back in art history, the nude has always been a source of inspiration and creativity. Especially our view of the female body is strongly influenced by a rather masculine approach, but during the past several decades we experienced a new era of female visual storytellers. These women give us a glimpse of their personal experiences with femininity and nudity. The exhibit is dedicated to provoke a cultural discourse of women on women as a female intervention.

Framed by masculine scopophilia, women were often presented as an “object of desire”. This exhibition gives a more versatile perspective on the female body from a woman’s eye on another. Whether beautiful, shocking, gross or glorious, ‘In The Raw: The Female Gaze On The Nude’ reveals honest artworks.
