Dom & Nic directed the new music video for the Chemical Brothers and their Beck-featuring track ‘Wide Open’.
Dom & Nic is a creative partnership specializing in television commercials and music videos. Together with producer John Madsen, they have created lots of award winning footage for some of the world’s leading brands and artists.
Dom & Nic have been commissioned to create a new music video for The Chemical Brothers’s latest single release “Wide Open” (featuring Beck) of their 2015 album “Born in the Echoes”. The clip features a dance performance by Sonoya Mizuno. During the performance, her body transforms more and more into a lattice-like 3D weave. Dom & Nic created the mesh structure underneath the dancer’s skin using a CG model made of 107 individual rigs, resulting in a fascinating visualization. The human body has been reduced to its simple shapes. With the progression of the transformation, Sonoya Mizuno’s dance slowly turns into a surreal performance.
