Şimdi heißt jetzt – Momentaufnahmen aus Istanbul, a collection of personal essays, told by fifteen authors about encounters, adventures, and crises in the city of Istanbul.

Written in German and accompanied by atmospheric illustrations, the book offers informative background information on everyday life and the Turkish culture.

“The first thing a big city does to us is sneak into their language, and if we don’t curse, the curse will fall on our cells.” Fifteen authors tell of their encounters, adventures, and crises in Istanbul. Readers will experience an interplay of atmospheric illustrations and background information that create a complex picture of the city in which so many cultural influences, as well as social ideas and individual dreams, come together.

The book is intended to make encounters with new impressions and personal perspectives possible. Those encounters can arouse curiosity while creating connections between Turkish and German people.
