Eyes on Dutch artist Pieter ‘Parra’ Janssen and his curvy Post-Pop imagery.
Have you heard of Pieter Janssen aka Parra? Using saturated colors and curvy lines, the Dutch artist creates vibrant Post-Pop imagery of surreal characters. Within a few years, Pieter ‘Parra’ Janssen quickly received international recognition and his artworks could be seen in several group and solo shows. With a focus on playfulness and humor, his artworks could be described as metaphors of everyday conundrums. Parra paints weird, mostly female characters in diverse situations. In addition to his paintings, the artist is also known for a range of sculptures, drawings and even animations. Pieter Janssen is a co-founder of cult apparel label ‘ByParra’ and a member of the two electronic music groups ‘Le Le’ and ‘Mich’. The artist currently lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Ruttkowski;68 currently presents “I can’t look at your face anymore”, Parra’s second solo show at the Cologne, Germany based contemporary art gallery. The show will run until May 29, 2016.
