Memphis – Slab Serif Type Family.

German font designer Dr. Rudolf Wolf was the first who combined slab serifs with the forms of sans serif fonts. He originally created the Memphis font in 1929 for type foundry Stempel. Nowadays, the Memphis™ font family will be published by Linotype. The complete family includes styles from light to extra bold plus corresponding italics. Its typeface is significantly influence by the slab serif style of American typeface Litho Antique from 1910. Memphis has a harmonious and legible typeface mixed with a striking appearance. These attributes make it a good display font as well as text font.
