Today I am pleased to share with you an exclusive interview with Parker Thornton, a multitalented photographer and visual artist who specializes in a variety of creative work. Parker’s images could be seen in a wide range of publications both printed and online media.
As a visual artist, you are working in the fields of photography, drawing, and art direction. How do these different creative areas influence each other?
“They influence each other in various ways but by practicing each of those visual art forms regularly, I’m able to refine my eye for composition, light, form, and color much deeper than if I was practicing just one of those art forms.”
What inspires you?
“Nature, minimalist design, love, and people.”
How did you get into photography?
“I got into photography purely out of interest about 8 years ago. I had no idea where I’d go with it but knew I loved it and I’ve been pursuing it ever since.”
How would you describe your photographic style?
“Simple, intimate, and warm.”
What makes a good picture?
“An honest and pure approach to the subject matter being captured.”
What are your goals for the future?
“I have many goals, but my focus revolves around continual growth, service, impact, and creating work that opens up people’s mind to new ways of thinking about this gift we call life.”
