Pia-Mélissa Laroche’s pencil drawings of the series “Hyper Demeures” create the illusion of surreal, sunken worlds inside the paper.
Based in Paris, France, Pia-Mélissa Laroche is an artist and illustrator specializing in surrealistic drawings and paintings with strong influences from architecture, geometry and a touch of minimalism. Hyper Demeures is a series of pencil drawings on paper that create the illusion of three-dimensional worlds under a seemingly flat surface. The illustrations show different shapes, spaces, and stairs that lead to other unknown levels. All this is embedded in a completely flat surface, like a sheet of paper. Everything looks like carved into the ground. Scroll down the article to see all artworks of the series.
