Creative studio Mucca created a striking new brand identity for the Hermitage Hotel.
Mucca is a creative studio specializing in branding and type design. They are best known for their brand work across the hospitality industry including Daxton, MC Hotel, Chicago Athletic Association, and more.
The creative people at Mucca had been asked to work on the rebranding for the prestigious Hermitage Hotel. Opening in 1910, the Hermitage Hotel played a key role in the women’s suffrage movement in the US. At stake was women’s right to vote and The Hermitage Hotel became an infamous backdrop for political leaders in the weeks and months leading up to ratification.
For the new visual identity, Mucca came up with a custom typeface called Suffragette and a bold yellow color scheme symbolizing the yellow roses of the Pro-Suffragists. Using the right mix of reverence and irreverence, Mucca’s design is a tribute to the original spirit of the building. Below you can see a few images of the project.
